2nd app

The app below may be used analyse the convergence rate of the PageRank approximations obtained by successively applying the PageRank formula to some initial approximations. The maximum number of web pages in this applet is six and you may select any linking scheme between the pages, as well as play with different values for the parameter \(p\). How does the convergence rate change with the choice of the parameter \(p\)?

Instructions

Specific instructions: After selecting your preferred number of web pages and links among them, you can define the initial PageRank approximation to each page as any number between 0 and \(n\), by moving the point below the corresponding column. To check how the successive approximations for the PageRank change through the usage of the PageRank formula and how they are getting close to the exact ones, move the point corresponding to the number of iterations performed (that is, the number of times the formula is used) and compare the PageRank values given in the left column (the approximations) with the values given in the right column (the exact PageRank values).
