Sharks

The sharks represent here a family of cartilaginous fish of which, other than sharks, rays also belong.

Sharks are voracious and, without outside intervention, quickly deplete their food source, reducing their rate of reproduction. This behaviour translates into a decrease in the number of sharks over the time.

(Click on the figure to observe the evolution of the amount of sharks with time, depending on their voracity.)

Neverthless there are ecosystem changes that are favourable to sharks like those that lead to greater food abundance, creating advantageous conditions for the multiplication of this specie.
