Identification numbers with check digit algorithms 
Portuguese Tax ID number (NIF)
The Portuguese identification system for fiscal numbers NIF is equal to the Identity Card system (BI). The only difference is that in the latter the check digit pops up separated from the identification number, in an individual square, while in the NIF number it is the rightmost digit of the number.
